So Long Dukes!

Hey folks...(the ONE of you who read this blog). Oh wait...I don't read this blog either! ha!

Anyways with baseball season upon us, I guess I'll be writing here and there for WTFNationals.

In the latest Nats news, Outfielder Elijah Dukes has just been released. Dukes has been with the Nats since 2008. I've always been a fan of the guy, as I've always seen him as a pretty solid fielder. Oh well, I guess the .150 preseason batting average didn't really help. The released is termed "unconditional". I don't know WTF that means in this case though.

Nats Employee Stabbed in Kitchen Brawl!

Well since the Nats aren't putting on much of a show on the diamond, the employess tried to do their best to boost fan entertainment. It's reported that two kitchen employees were involved in an argument in the kitchen area of the President's Club, Nationals Park's most exclusive section...with seats costing $300 each. The heated argument, and ensuing fight resulted in an employee pulling a knife, and stabbing the other.

Police officers tried to block exits to prevent the suspect from exiting, but he fled on foot prior to containment was in place. It's pretty sad that not only do the Nationals suck at baseball, but their image is further tarnished by unruly employees.

I wouldn't be surprised if the fleet-footed, knife wielding employee ends up working for Metro!

Congrats Nats!

Congrats to the Nats on winning their 7th straight game, improving to a league worst record of 39-72. Just 23.5 games outside of NL east's first place slot, the Nationals are charging forward with a full head of steam!

YOU GO GIRLS!

So Long, Manny Acta!!

Piloting his ball club to an MLB worst 26-61 record, The Nationals' front office gave GM Manny Acta the boot. At this rate, the Nationals are well on their way to another 100+ loss season, which would pretty much assure their well known position of caboose on the MLB train...for a second year in a row.

It gotta be tough being in his position. Starting his career as MLB's youngest manager, working with a team who quite often resembles the bad news bears. You can only do so much with an injury-prone lineup, and subpar performing professional players.

Oh well...SEE YA!

Last Thursday

I had the opportunity to check out a game last week. It was an interleague game versus the Boston Red Sox. Sox fans were definitely a huge draw to Nats park. Thousands of Massholes jammed the subway, and stadium alike to come see their team play. Much to my delight, the Nationals pulled out a victory that night.

The park was sold out, leaving standing room only tickets available. These tickets cost $10. Why do standing room tickets cost $10, when the cheap SEATS cost $5? Shouldn't NOT using a seat cost less?...like $2.50? Anyway...it didnt matter much, as my friend came thru with a hook-up for me with a $175 Diamond Club seat...for free!!

Here are a few pics from last Thursday...

Yes, I took Cheetos in with me. Next time it will be beer. Nats Park has GOT to be the easiest stadium on Earth to bring stuff into.

Record Breaking Attendance!!

Over 41 THOUSAND fans piled in to Nationals Park last night to see the Nationals. Well to be more accurate, I should say "to see the Nationals LOSE to the Boston Red Sox!"

The Nats held their own on the home turf for a while, but as expected, they were out muscled by the AL-leading Red Sox.

I'm actually trying to go to the game tonight, but cant find any cheap tickets on nationals.mlb.com! WTF!!?!?

Nats Win Streak Ends At 4 :(

Well it was good while it lasted. With a loss to the Toronot Blue Jays, the Nationals' four game win streak has come to an end. Those god damn Canadians snatched the long-awaited Nats momentum with a 9-4 victory over DC's best baseball team.

The Nationals were their NORMAL selves in this game. With a 38 pitch first inning, fans should have immediately known what kind of evening this was destined to be. Nats ole faithful, Ryan Zimmerman wasn't able to muster up any offense to help his team. Going 0 for 5 last night, he is now without hit within his last 17 at bats.

Maybe next time Nationals!
